If you're planning outdoor adventures in Acadia or a state park, a good local map is helpful. And for adventures around the state, there's no map that does it better than the DeLorme Maine Atlas (every Mainer north of Portland has one!).

Layers are essential so you're prepared for anything from chilly to hot temperaturessometimes in the same day! Don't neglect to pack a sweatshirt or two just because it's summer.

bug spray

If you'll be doing anything  outdoors, bug repellant is a MUST for ticks, black flies, and mosquitoes.
